What’s in my bag? Here’s a check list.

I use a messanger bag to carry my gear (made by Everest ). It has one large compartment, a couple of smaller pockets and a couple of very small pockets. The big pockets and most of the small ones are zippered. A flap covers all but the largest pocket.

Here’s a list of what’s in my bag, starting with the large pocket:
- Assortment of plugs and lures within a plastic lure box
- Needle-nose pliers (which I move to my pants when I fish)
- Fillet knife
- Measuring tape (plastic)
- Holder for wet lures (pencil holder from Walmart, black with clear window)
- Rag
- Bottle of water
- Snack (not shown)

In my smaller pockets:
- Small bottle of bug repellant
- Small bottle of sun screen & lip protector
- Lighter (preferably wind proof)
- Plastic garbage bag rolled into a zip-lock
- Tape for my casting finger (so I don’t get cut or so my cuts don’t get worse)
- Medicine (if you need it)

And in the smallest pockets:
- Snap-swivels
- Fluorocarbon leaders
- Wire leaders
Other notable stuff on my person:
- Hat (wide brim)
- Sun glasses (polarized!)
- Pants with lots of pockets (cargo shorts work great)
